The 2513 is a utility 5 X 7, 64-character device by Signetics and General Instruments. The 5004 is a Standard Microsystems product. It works on a single +5-V supply and has internal storage and output registers. It pro­ vides a premium 7 X 9 dot matrix of uppercase and lowercase char­ acters. The 6072 is a very fast, single-supply 7 X 9 matrix of 128 characters offered by Monolithic Memories.

It has common input/ output leads and an output disable. Sources include Intel, American Micro Devices, and Synertek, along with the Texas Instruments 4042. The 2112 is similar to the 2111 except that it is in a 16-pin package and has no output disable. For normal operation, pins 2, 3, 4, 5, and 10 may be grounded. A digital logic 1 on pin 1 will cause pin 13 to source 6 rnA and pin 12 to sink 6 rnA, driving a transmission line balanced with respect to ground. A similar input to pin 6 will cause pin 9 to source 6 rnA and pin 8 to sink 6 rnA. A digital logic 0 on either input will reverse the sense of the currents, with the original source being a sink and vice versa. Inputs 2 and 5 may be logically ANDed to inputs 1 and 6, respec­ tively, for two-input operation.
